Government Affects on M&E Appraisals
July 16, 2009
Is it time for AMEA Appraisers to evaluate the potential affects of the structure changes occurring with the takeover’s of Chrysler, General Motors, the Banking Industry and others.
Nationalization of Industry results in a redistribution of the income of the affected entities. Profits, if any, will be returned to the owners who are now us (The Government).
Profits returned to the owners will be spent as determined by “The Government.”
Losses will be supported by the owners “The Government.”
Who has the most affect on “The Government”—big business, the unions, special interest groups, small business, or the vast majority of the citizens in the marketplaces????
What affect will this have on who determines products and controls production of products in these entities????
Does this mean that “The Government” owns the Industries that control the majority of production and guides the rest????
Does this mean that the small to medium sized business which utilize most of the M&E will be the same, better, or worse off ????
Do these changes have any affect on the business activity recovery that all are hopeful for and are expecting????
As these changes become effective what will be the affects on the values of used M&E????
When you have some thoughts and/or answers to the above send them in to AMEA and we will share your thoughts with those in our Industry.
Our conclusions are that the AMEA Appraisers who are closer to the current markets will be among the first professionals to be able to gage the future markets and will be better able to forecast these market trends first hand.
In our future issues, we will provide first hand summary trends of the various industries AMEA Professionals serve and the trends they are observing.
